IV. Международный конкурс "Abroad Mind" в номинации "Рассказ".
1. Рассказ "I Like to Travel". Ованесян Татьяна Тимуровна (6 класс). 3-е место.
I want to tell you about my great love of travelling around the world. I always travel with my Mom and Dad of course. It’s very interesting to visit different countries, to see people and to go sightseeing. We’ve already visited a lot of countries seeing more than I can imagine.
This summer we’ve been to Germany getting there by plane. I love flying somewhere. Berlin is a very beautiful city. For the first time I was there at the age of five. We’ve got a lot of impressions from this city. It is very clean and people are kind. I didn’t want to leave it. We went around the city seeing the Brandenburg Gate, the symbol of the city, Berlin Cathedral, the Treptow Park. But I liked Zoological Garden best. It is Germany's oldest zoo. We were watching animals for the whole day wondering around the zoo. And that tour was exciting. I’ve never seen so many kinds of animals! But when I wanted to feed a monkey the zookeeper didn’t allow doing it. It was a pity! The weather was very hot because it was July so we were thirsty. After having so much fun we went to the café and my parents had lunch. As I wasn’t hungry I was eating an ice cream and drinking much water. In the evening we were walking in the park enjoying the view. The whole night I was sleeping tight and seeing fairytale dreams. We spent a week in Germany. It was time to go home.
That trip is unforgettable and I’m looking forward to visit this country once more. May be it will be next summer.

2. Рассказ "My Journeys Abroad". Жукова Мария Олеговна (6 класс). Лауреат.
I am twelve but I have already visited three countries.
My first journey abroad was to Turkey. Turkey is a country on the south of Europe. It is located between the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. I went to Antalya, a very popular city on the south of Turkey. Its population is over one million people and in summer it increases to two million people. It is because of the fact the Antalya is not very expensive but well known resort. There is an international airport, a lot of entertaining centers, some aqua parks, great amount of hotels, disco clubs, restaurants and many other places for tourists in Antalya. I stayed there for two weeks. During this period of time I visited such places of interest as Archeological Museum, National Park "Duden Waterfalls” and other interesting places. But the main thing is that I swam in the sea a lot and had a good rest.
The second country which I have visited is Greece or more exactly Island Rhodes. This island was inhabited from ancient times and it is considered to be one of the oldest and the most attended islands in the world. It was named so because there was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world – the Colossus of Rhodes, the statue of the Greek Titan Helios. It was a statue of 37 meters in height which was destructed by an earthquake. I saw a wonderful sight - Butterfly Lane, the place where one hundred different butterflies fly together to the flavor of pitch of the trees which grow there. I went on excursions on Rhodes, sunbathed and swam in the sea. I tasted Greek cuisine, very delicious. It was an unforgettable trip.
One more country which I have visited is Bulgaria. This country is very popular among the Russians. I was in Burgas. This city is on the bank of the Black Sea. It is famous for its mineral therapeutic mud – baths and a lot of tourists take them. I saw a lot of interesting historical and natural beauties - Nature Reserve "Pod”, the area in which one can watch hundreds of bird species, Ruins of the Pingos Castle. I stayed for two weeks in Burgas. We lived in Granny’s flat. We walked a lot around the city, visited museums, parks, cafes and other places of interest. We had a lot of good time near the sea – we swam and enjoyed ourselves.
My dream is to visit many other countries of the world. It is so interesting!
